Flashback Friday: Mac & Cheese Party

EPISODE TWO: Mac & Cheese Party (December 2005)

This epic night began with a few pretty ladies and a trip to Fats for some socializing.  (Was it a Thursday? It must have been a Thursday.)

A few hours (and a few beers) later, somebody (we won't name names) decided to invite the entire bar back to our apartment for macoroni and cheese. (I mean, who knew that anyone was even listening!)  "Macoroni & Cheese.... New Apartment Complex.. EVERYONE'S INVITED!"

After making this proclamation, she ran back to the apartment, opened the door and shouted, "Jonathon, get the water boiling.  We're gonna need mac & cheese....a lot of it."

Sure enough, people started pouring through the door.

Soon, our apartment was overflowing with hungry students.  And the pots on the stove were overflowing with mac and cheese.

We got out bowls, cups, and spoons and started serving up the delicious midnight snack.

Friendly faces, and people I don't even know.... everyone was having a good time!

When we ran out of bowls and cups, we got creative.  Anything that will hold some mac & cheese!

It was lick-your-spoon good.  (Seriously, does anyone remember ever having better mac & cheese than that?!)

By the end of the night, stomachs were full and new friendships had formed.

I don't know about you, but this is one of my very favorite senior-year Loras memories.

Let's do it again sometime, shall we?

Bridesmaids & Best Men Bar Crawl

We had an amazing weekend at the 2nd annual Bridesmaids & Best Men Bar Crawl in Chicago!

Erin, Jonathon, and I arrived at Megan's apartment around 6:15pm on Saturday.  We were just in time to get all dressed up and head to the first bar!

Looking good.

First bar memories:

1) Couple at bar
2) WHOO!!!

Second bar memories:
1) Brenda & Joe arrive!

2) Natalie arrives!

3) Shot for Jessie & Josh

Third bar memories: (No pictures were taken at this bar... what were we thinking?!)
1) Cheri falling in a hole.  (Actually, my chair did.  Why was there a hole there?)
2) Natalie playing hide-and-go-seek with her wedding rings
3) Natalie offering Jonathon her coat to wear on the way to bar #4.

4) Jonathon chasing after Natalie and making her put her coat back on.

Fifth bar memories: (Were there any, Megan?)
1) Megan dancing.

2) All of us dancing.

3) Photo bombs!

4) Natalie requesting "All I Want for Christmas is You." DJ saying, "no."
5) Natalie requesting "Faith" but falling on top of Megan on the way there.  As a result, Natalie's knee hurts and so do Megan's elbows.  DJ played "Faith" for about 30 seconds.

6) It's double-bagged.
7) Watch out for Megan's shoes.

We all slept great and had a wonderful brunch this morning!

Did I forget anything?

Thanks for an awesome weekend, Duhawks!

Flasback Friday: Nebraska Roadtrip

I'm starting something new on this blog.  For memory's sake I thought this blog should include some details and pictures from our time at Loras! (Feel free to take part if you like!)

Forgive me if I don't always get the details right.... and correct me if you'd like.   (My memory = not that great.)

Without further adieu, I bring you...

FLASHBACK FRIDAY
Episode One: Roadtrip to Nebraska (Dec 2004)

We made a surprise trip to Nebraska, just before Christmas in 2004.   Why?  We missed Brenda.  You see... she spent a semester in London.  And while she had a blast, there was an obvious void at Loras while she was gone.  When she arrived back in the states, the only way we could fill that void sooner rather than later.... was a 6 hour trip to Randolph, NE!

SURPRISE BRENDA!  WE'RE HERE!

Oh yeah, Jonathon is too!

The details of the few days there are a little blurry. But I do remember that it was wonderful, awesome, hilarious, great, and every other positively happy words you can think of.

My favorite memories include a rousing game of cards.

And trying to drink out of the glasses with the fancy straws inside... not so easy. (Thanks, Megan!)

Also, having to deal with a lack of beds in the Arens house.  (Just kidding, of course.  We all just like to snuggle.)

Thank you for leaving us, Brenda.  If you didn't, we would've never had such an amazing reunion.
